This week I’d like to highlight an amazing woman, Mallory Babika, and the organization she has created called Tackle Domestic Violence. She is a survivor of several forms of domestic violence: mental, physical, emotional, sexual, and financial. Her goal is to raise awareness to domestic violence and help prevent it.
She focuses on athletes, students, and community members when raising awareness. She organizes and participates in various events that promote healthy relationships and educate the public on domestic violence.
She tells her story about her terrifying experiences as a victim and empowers women to leave their abuser. Through education, community action, and insight, she is achieving her goal.
In October, she presented to teenagers at Wickliffe High School about domestic violence and shared her story. Wickliffe High School supported the cause by wearing purple socks and ribbons for their football game.
You can follow Tackle Domestic Violence on Facebook and Twitter @TackleDV.
Thank you Mallory for all of your hard work!
Remember, if we can help just one victim, we've done our job.
