Recently I participated in a book sale at the Florida Heritage Book Festival. I had the opportunity to discuss Drowning with several people. I felt like I accomplished my goal when I was talking about Drowning and domestic violence.
When I discussed domestic violence and the issues surrounding it, I listened to many concerned and compassionate people. Everyone shares the same opinion—we need more community awareness and education for domestic violence issues.
All of us can do things to raise awareness. This month is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Some things you can do are to wear purple clothing, paint your ring fingernail purple, and talk about it.
I am proud of Drowning. It is opening doors to discussion. Based on reader feedback, it is making a difference in people’s perceptions and is giving survivors a voice.
If you have read Drowning and feel it would help other people, would you consider writing a review on Amazon? I’d really appreciate it.
Remember, if we can help just one woman, we’ve done our job.
